NameHQGet Started

Three steps, one results page

  1. 1

    Brainstorm

Jot down a few names you'd be proud to put on an app icon. Two words that sound good together usually win.

  2. 2

    Search

Drop in your favourite and choose the App Store countries you plan to launch in. One click, no account.

  3. 3

    See everything

Every store, domain, handle and dev namespace on a single page, with a clear verdict. Grab what's free before someone else does.

Twenty tabs of checking, on one page

Most checkers start with the .com. For an app, the store listing is the brand, so we search there first and show you the real results in a phone frame.

  • Exact and near matches called out per store, per country
  • Honest labels: anything we can't confirm says so
  • One verdict from stores and domains, then register what's free

Before you search

Is NameHQ free?

Yes. No account, no paywall. We earn a small commission if you register a domain through a partner link, and sponsors can buy a slot on the site.

Does this check trademarks?

No. An available name is not a cleared name. Search the USPTO, EUIPO or WIPO databases yourself before you commit, and read the trademarks guide for how.

Why doesn't my reserved app name show up?

Store search only returns published apps. A name reserved in App Store Connect but never shipped is invisible, so a clear result can't be a guarantee.

How accurate are social handle checks?

YouTube goes through its official API. TikTok, X and Instagram are probed and sometimes block us. When we can't confirm, we say so and link you to the platform.

Do you store my searches?

We log the name, countries and outcome to publish trends later, plus a hashed IP for rate limiting. Result pages are hidden from search engines.
